Gorgeous photos from the Demimonde lookbook.
This spring I had the opportunity to model my friend Holly’s wedding gowns for a styled shoot with Amy and Kaitlin of Lovelit Wedding Photography. I have been a fan of Holly’s work since I first moved to Portland in 2002 and I love seeing how far she’s come since then. Her gowns are incredible and I felt absolutely glamorous the moment I slipped one on.
I am definitely not the most graceful model, but having three encouraging women cheer me on and give direction made me feel totally comfortable in front of the camera. We had a wonderful day at Cape Kiwanda, hiking through sand dunes and into caves to find epic views of the Oregon Coast. The wind was cold and my toes were numb, but I was having too much fun to care! Looking at these photos, I remember the day as if it were a fairytale.
A couple of months ago, a friend and I were walking down Mississippi Avenue when a gorgeous, historic home stopped me in my tracks. I took a photo of the iron gate leading to the garden and wished I could see what it was like inside.
A week later, I was asked to do hair and makeup for a shoot with Portland Monthly Magazine. I was so excited to find out that the location would be the very same house I had been daydreaming about! It did not disappoint. The wallpaper was absolutely stunning! Every room was covered in elaborate prints on the walls and ceilings and some even had multiple borders.
It was such a fun day with an awesome team and the best creative energy! I absolutely love these photos and was so excited to see my work in print.
I had so much fun working on the latest Seaworthy Lookbook! Marisa is a total sweetheart and she always picks a rad group of ladiest to collaborate with. This was my third time working on one of her lookbooks and I love how different each one has been. See the other two here and here.
It was such a privilege to work with multi-medium artist, Fuchsia Lin, on her latest project, Crystals of Transformation. Her amazing, hand-sewn costume was worn by the lovely Andrea Parson, a dancer for the Northwest Dance Project. The shoot took place in the Lan Su Chinese Garden, one of my very favorite places in Portland. It was wonderful to have the Garden all to ourselves for a couple of hours that morning. The three bottom photos are my Instagram shots from the day.
My friend, Marisa, is one of my favorite people to work with. She’s kind, funny and extremely talented – not to mention her killer dance moves! It’s impossible not to be happy when she’s around. The day we shot this lookbook, everyone was dancing around Margaret’s studio to the best mix of 90’s music. How fun!! Photography: Margaret Jacobsen. Jewelry + Styling: Marisa Howard for Seaworthy. Hair + Makeup: Kassandra Sommerville. Model: Krystal Martos (Q6)
My friend, Anna Marie, has two clothing lines, Minx and Murmuration. She is in the process of building a new website, but gave me permission to post these photos from the most recent Minx Lookbook as a little sneak peek of what’s to come. See our other collaborations here and here.
I am so excited to share these photos from Claire LaFaye’s lookbook, “A Love Less Ordinary.” I remember being overwhelmed by how beautiful everything was that day. When I first saw all of Claire’s wedding dresses I was totally in awe! The lace!!! I want to get married to my husband all over again so that I can wear one of her amazing gowns!
